The North Florida Genealogical Society, Inc., formerly Southern Genealogist's Exchange Society (SGES), is a FamilySearch Affiliate Library and non-profit genealogy society in Jacksonville, FL, providing information and resources for genealogists since 1964.
Members and non-members alike are always welcome and encouraged to browse through the over 6,000 books, periodicals, maps and quarterlies published by other genealogical organizations.
We also have many volumes covering special subjects like Revolutionary War Soldiers, Civil War soldiers, and the Great Puritan Migration, all within the NFGS library. These resources cover the United States as well as some foreign countries. Many family ancestry's records have also been documented and placed within our library.

We are pleased to announce that we are planning on having the NFGS Library open for research on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 10:0am to 1:00pm in an effort to make it available to those who are unable to come on Wednesdays.
In order for this to be a regular occurrence we need volunteers willing to staff the library. If you are interested please contact the NFGS Library by any of the methods below.
